Ein Klavierkonzert für Beethoven

 

Wir möchten Beethovens 250ten Geburtstag auf etwas unkonventionellere Weise feiern.

In seiner Personalunion als Komponist und Interpret beherrschte Ludwig van Beethoven auch meisterhaft die Kunst der Improvisation. Mit entschlossenem Mut, voller Inspiration ging Beethoven seinen künstlerischen Weg in damals noch unbekannte musikalische Welten.
Es ist überliefert, dass Beethoven dem Dirigenten die Orchester-Partitur zu seinem 3.Klavierkonzert in c-moll ohne den Solopart übergab und bei der Uraufführung den noch fehlenden Part improvisierte.

Dieser künstlerische Wagemut ist wesentlicher Teil der universellen Botschaft seiner Musik. Und genau diesen Aspekt seiner Kunst möchten wir mit unserem Projekt zum 250. Geburtstag würdigen.
Inspiriert von Beethovens motivisch-thematischer Kompositionsweise schreibe ich eine Partitur für die gleiche schlanke Orchester-Besetzung mit einer leeren Klavierstimme: ein reines Orchestervorspiel, der Einsatz des Klaviers mit Orchesterbegleitung, reine Klaviersoli, Zwischenspiele des Orchesters. Es ist nur festgelegt, wann das Klavier spielt, aber nicht was.

Der gesamte Klavierpart wird von Bahros real-time, im „Hier und Jetzt“ der Uraufführung improvisiert werden.

In dem Projekt können Geist und Leidenschaft, Kalkül und Gefühl, Konstruktion und Inspiration zusammentreffen.

A piano concerto for Beethoven

 

We want to celebrate Beethoven's 250th birthday in a slightly more unconventional way.

In his personal union as a composer and interpreter, Ludwig van Beethoven also mastered the art of improvisation. With determined courage and full of inspiration, Beethoven embarked on his artistic journey into musical worlds that were still unknown at the time.

It is said that Beethoven gave the conductor the orchestral score for his 3rd piano concerto in C minor without the solo part and improvised the missing part at the premiere.

This artistic daring is an essential part of the universal message of his music. And we would like to honor precisely this aspect of his art with our 250th birthday project.

Inspired by Beethoven's motivic-thematic method of composition, I write a score for the same slim orchestration with an empty piano part: a pure orchestral prelude, the use of the piano with orchestral accompaniment, pure piano solos, interludes by the orchestra. It is only determined when the piano plays, but not what.

The entire piano part will be improvised in real time by Bahros in the "Here and Now" of the premiere.
